A landman, at least someone who works in the petroleum industry, acts as a middleman between the exploration companies and the landowners. Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and enter into contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent.
Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, living quarters for workers (men’s camps), oversee the assembly of excavation machinery, and the drilling of the well site itself, especially in remote locations. They are also part fixer, problem solver, and mediator..
I love the show and everything Taylor Sheridan does, but where was the technical advisor? In the pumping equipment accident, Billy Bob doesn’t even hold the pipe wrench properly. I had to watch it again as I couldn’t believe what I had just seen.
And at the scene of the accident, a real crew would have the proper equipment and expertise. Like a 36″ pipe wrench that a couple of guys could operate. No one would hit a short pipe wrench with a hammer.
Having worked in similar places, the show is a far cry from the safety precautions used in the industry, which follows OSHA regulations to the point of ridiculousness. No one would stand on a truck full of pipe and no one is at heights without a seatbelt.

Take control of a tank and face your enemies while defending your headquarters! The key to victory is to break through walls, create your own paths, direct enemies to fight where you have the advantage, and use the terrain strategically. The arcade version was re-released by Hamster in 2024.

CIA operative Joe tries to balance her personal and professional lives as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terror. Real-life military advisors helped create a more authentic execution of gun handling, house cleaning, positioning, action-based action, etc. Featured in Premios Soberano (2024). Why, why do they always insist on having one teenage character who is constantly angry and acting irrationally? That has *never* made for any good TV show. Zoe Saldana’s daughter is full of stereotypes, all, excuse me, angry teenage forms rolled into one character. One minute you’re watching a show about secret operatives in the Middle East, the next you’re being subjected to constant scenes of family turmoil caused by one selfish teenager who *nobody in the world cares about*. My advice: rewind every scene she appears in. They add absolutely nothing – zip – hope – zilch to the story. Skipping them will do wonders for your blood pressure.

Directed by Karim Aïnouz, the film offers a mix of desire, love and crime in a story that follows the young Heraldo’s search for refuge in a motel on the beach, where he soon finds himself immersed in unexpected situations where erotic and power tensions arise while hiding from the gangsters who are tracking him. It is a film about what fate offers these characters, who seem to defy their own destiny more than once. In Heraldo, the motel owners Dayana and Elias find not only a young boy they like and are ready to help, but also a seed that will blossom in the face of unexpected challenges in their lives.
The glances that tell more than enough to interpret the owner’s intentions are the physical manifestations of said tension. Sometimes they are the product of desire and sometimes jealousy, but they are always there, ready to show their feelings. The film’s setting constantly reinforces the location and the surrounding element of Motel Destino.
A desire that also manifests itself in their bodies, especially when naked, channeling erotic doses that need to be released, but also their immanent vulnerability. As the day ends and night takes its place, the location conveys the looming dangers of the relationships between the motels. The barely lit highways, the neon lights of the motel and the secrets of its walls open the door to dangerous destinies that are ready to fulfill themselves.
The corridors between the walls of Motel Destino expand into a world of mere desire, carnal desire in its purest form, but also the desire for a better life away from what defines us.
