Story

The producers convinced both the American & British governments to let them use real-life settings as filming locations for the series, including the still-recent American embassy (at Nine Elms) that opened in 2018.

The one unavailable location was Winfield House, the American ambassador's actual residence. Although it's accurately described as occupying the largest plot of residential land (11 acres) in London aside from Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes..

It is truly original – it hasn't been done before

As hard to believe as it might seem, this series is also 'fresh'. Midway through the first episode, something else of significance occurs, and somehow the makers of this drama managed to convince the people who make the trailers not to include it – or even allude to it.

The writing is deft; plot and dialogue flow together seamlessly

I am only midway through the second episode, but I can already tell you that this is not similar to other shows or books in the spy/suspense genre. It is also somewhat refreshing, because it isn't dominated by the sort of paranoia that bedevils Australians and others.

The acting is very, very credible

Story

Maurice and Katia Krafft dedicated their lives to exploring the world's volcanoes. Their legacy consists of groundbreaking footage of eruptions and their aftermath, composed in this visual stunning collage , a dangerous craft that ultimately costs them their lives. It's pleasingly unpretentious: we see excerpts from their (still stunning) work alongside a little casual footage of the film-makers themselves, while Herzog gives us a quiet commentary more from the perspective of a fan than that of an expert ( though of course he knows something of what he is talking about). If there's a tragic dimension (did they keep taking risks because that was what, at the end of the day, they did) Herzog doesn't dwell on it. It might sound dull and pedestrian, but the stunning images keep you attached, and draw out your admiration for those who dared to film them.

Such a lens would be incapable of focusing on close-in subjects such as selfies with Sasha or in the bedroom with Catherine..

At its core, this is a revenge story

Dang! I was not aware of the experience I was in for when I started screening this AppleTV+ limited series starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. "Disclaimer" is based on a novel of the same name by Renée Knight, and it was written for the screen and directed by Alfonso Cuarón.

Blanchett, as always, is fantastic in here and Kline puts in a solid performance as well

Blanchett stars as Catherine, a journalist whose secrets of her past resurface in an alarming way, causing her to confront that past as it wreaks havoc on her entire life. This was a masterfully told story, taking us along a fascinating journey of discovery as the audience is shown (sometimes in vivid detail) the "events" of Catherine's past. It was surprising to see Sacha Baron Cohen in a more serious role, but he did it justice.

But boy am I glad I stuck around

Despite a couple/few minor nitpicks, I highly recommend this series if you like character dramas with some added tension/intrigue. Note: There are some pretty graphic depictions of sex/intimacy shown throughout various episodes. This isn't action-packed, and it did take about half an episode (roughly 30 minutes) before I eventually got "hooked" onto the story.

After seeing Evan Peters in AHS, I just knew he would be great in this role

He did not disappoint.I haven't seen many docos on Dahmer so don't really know that much about his personality or demeanor, but the character that Peters portrays is complex, creepy, and just plain twisted and evil. One of the most disturbing details of Dahmer's crimes that this series highlights is how the police ignored and dismissed witness reports, and their lack of action allowed Dahmer to stay free and kill more men.This series is excellent.

I suggest you start watching it early in the afternoon as you will want to binge watch the whole series
