Story
Under a burning sky, on the roadside of the Ceará coast, Motel Destino is the scene of dangerous games of desire, power and violence. Directed by Karim Aïnouz, the film offers a mix of desire, love and crime in a story that follows the young Heraldo’s search for refuge in a motel on the beach, where he soon finds himself immersed in unexpected situations where erotic and power tensions arise while hiding from the gangsters who are tracking him. It is a film about what fate offers these characters, who seem to defy their own destiny more than once. In Heraldo, the motel owners Dayana and Elias find not only a young boy they like and are ready to help, but also a seed that will blossom in the face of unexpected challenges in their lives.
The actors do an excellent job of promoting the mutual rebellious tension
The glances that tell more than enough to interpret the owner’s intentions are the physical manifestations of said tension. Sometimes they are the product of desire and sometimes jealousy, but they are always there, ready to show their feelings. The film’s setting constantly reinforces the location and the surrounding element of Motel Destino.

A desire that also manifests itself in their bodies, especially when naked, channeling erotic doses that need to be released, but also their immanent vulnerability. As the day ends and night takes its place, the location conveys the looming dangers of the relationships between the motels. The barely lit highways, the neon lights of the motel and the secrets of its walls open the door to dangerous destinies that are ready to fulfill themselves.

but it’s true
the producers were either stingy with casting or the casting director was pathetic… apart from Reed, Helena, Sam… not a single other actor fit the character they were cast for.
some were unexpected and some were predictable
.. the most ridiculous casting was the British Prime Minister… Apart from that, the series had a few good twists and turns ..
but the ending was a bit anticlimactic
