Story
Benoit is in debt and must once again ask his wealthy parents for help. His plan to get the money: trick them into believing he’s marrying his model girlfriend, Emily.
Just for that… read all
When Emily cancels her flight on the way to the airport, Benoit decides to invite her big Uber driver, Fiona, instead. I was able to see this movie at a preview screening and it was really average so I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for it.
In short, there is not much to say about this French comedy
Let’s start with the worst part: the script is completely empty and the comedy is just dumb and witless. Profanity is everywhere, which wouldn’t be a problem if there was at least some subtlety, but no, it’s profanity for profanity’s sake, often aimed at pleasing a certain audience.
Sure, Michel Laroque and Gerard Darmont are veteran actors with nothing left to prove, but what did they do in this disaster?
However, the pleasant surprise is the male lead, whom I didn’t know before, but he gives a solid performance and adds some value to the film. Another thing I like is that the opening scenes with the robbers are well shot but unfortunately the rest of the movie doesn’t follow suit.
