Story
The author returns to his native city of Jerusalem-Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, but discovers that the townspeople are being attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire. He wants to get away from the sexier, more romanticized undead that has flooded pop culture for most of the last quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight and The Vampire Diaries. When Ben is reading old newspapers on microfilm in the library, the headline reads “Local Couple Victims of DUI.” The newspaper was supposedly printed in 1956, before the term “DUI” was used..
There were some decent scary moments in the film

The acting was solid, but the plot was rushed, and, for what I will never understand, they felt it necessary to rewrite one of the greatest writers of our time.
However, Barlow’s makeup was beautifully done, so that’s something
Too many storylines were thrown out and others were strangely created. I just wish the story had been developed properly, and that’s where a series of episodes would be appropriate. The backstory of the killer in Marsten’s house could also have been given some time, as it’s a great subplot and explanation for why Barlow and Straker choose the house/location.
Do films still have a test audience?
