Remake of El agente topo (2020)
Charles, a retiree, finds a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a retirement home. Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo”.
All the characters are extremely easy to like and so recognizable with someone in your life
Since we’re being honest, I have to admit that at first glance, I wasn’t really sure if the series was something I would be interested in, but somehow it managed to draw me in. Before you know it, you find yourself so invested that you just have to know who did it!
My favorite quote from the show is “Every great thing in your life, when you look back on it, seems like a miracle” Very poetic because it resonates with all of us
It’s also a gentle reminder that we’re all here trying to do the same thing, live and enjoy life, so we might as well try our best to get along and most importantly be nice to each other. I will also admit that it was a little strange to see Ted Danson in this role, especially when you are used to him as the Cheers character “Sam”; but early on, “Charles” tugs at your heartstrings without leaving any sad memories of “Sam.” A bittersweet, yet tender reminder that Father Time plays no favorites.
It is a nice change of pace, and leaves no guilt for enjoying another “police” show
I hope you watch it and recognize and empathize with the daily challenges that some in our society, in our lives, face on a daily basis.
