According to Ronald D

Claire Beauchamp Randall, a World War II nurse, mysteriously travels back in time to Scotland in 1743. There she meets a brave Highland warrior and becomes embroiled in an epic rebellion. Moore (creator of the series), his team decided to keep the Gaelic words instead of translating them into English. This allowed the narration to be told in the first person, showing Claire’s inability to understand Gaelic.

The opening song changes from season to season to reflect what is happening in the plot

The idea was suggested by producer David Brown, who claimed to have seen something similar in Skin Deep (1998), a foreign alternative film starring actor and singer Gustavo Goulart. In some episodes, characters say “OK”, an American term that did not come into use until the 19th century. In the first half of the second season (set in France), some of the lyrics are in French. In the second half of the second season (which mostly deals with the build-up to war), a militaristic snare drum is added to the opening theme song.

Appeared in Outlander: An Epic Adaptation (2015)

In the third season, tribal drums are added, as most of the season is set in the West Indies. In the fourth season, bluegrass fiddle and banjo are added, and some lyrics are sung in a Southern accent, as the action is mostly set in America. I’m so happy!

I got into Outlander late and watched it in one sitting. A dear friend who recently died of cancer was too young for me, made me watch it, so I did it in her honor. It has everything! The cast is perfect when it comes to star-studded performances in difficult storylines.

In my opinion, it is more than just a Harlequin romance and deserves more praise

The locations, the love story, the haunting and WONDERFUL music, the scenery, the costumes and props, and the attention to historical detail all made a huge impression on me.
